iPhone 17 to Be Even More Expensive
According to sources, Apple does not want to explain the price hike with Trump's tariffs against China, where most final versions of iPhones are assembled.
Instead, Apple will try to explain the price hike with "new features and design elements." The company is trying to avoid a repeat of Amazon, which said it would show customers how new tariffs affect the price of goods.
The White House perceived this as a hostile act, after which Amazon said that the idea was not accepted and would not be implemented.
Production Moved to India
With growing pressure amid the trade war between the US and China, Apple has moved production of devices for the American market to India.
At the same time, gadgets supplied from India will not be enough to cover all the demand for the iPhone. It is reported that the Pro and Pro Max versions will continue to be assembled in China.
How much will the new iPhone cost?
Reuters predicts that the price of the base model iPhone with 128GB of memory could rise to $1,142. The Pro Max version with 1TB of memory could rise to $2,300.
