iPhone 17 Air: the thinnest iPhone with the weakest battery

As Apple's September presentation approaches, more and more details about the new iPhone 17 lineup continue to leak online. This time, insider Majin Bu shared photos of the battery of the iPhone 17 Air model, which is rumored to replace the not-so-popular iPhone Plus.

As the source notes, the 2900 mAh battery is enclosed in a metal case. This design helps to better dissipate heat during fast charging and protects the battery from overheating. A similar solution has already been used in the iPhone 16 Pro.

However, compared to other models in the series, the battery life of the iPhone 17 Air looks modest. For comparison:

• iPhone 17 – 3877 mAh

• iPhone 17 Pro – 3650 mAh

• iPhone 17 Pro Max – 5000 mAh (up to 35 hours of operation)

The iPhone 17 Air, according to the data, will be the thinnest Apple smartphone ever – only 5.5 mm. However, the minimalism of the design will result in sacrifices: according to preliminary information, the device will receive one speaker, one main camera, and no SIM tray.

The entire iPhone 17 line is expected to be presented in September 2025. The media also suggests that the cost of new products may increase by $50, primarily due to trade restrictions and rising component prices.
